Privacy policy
In short:
- Trigger Tempo Kids collects no personal information at all. It has no adverts, no purchases and no accounts, and works fully offline.
- Trigger Tempo Pro has no accounts either, and the music you make stays on your device. If you choose to watch an advert, buy a pack or subscribe, a small amount of information is used to make that work, as explained below.
- We never sell your information.
1. Who we are
This policy covers the Trigger Tempo apps, Trigger Tempo Kids and Trigger Tempo Pro ("the apps"), and this website, made by Trigger Tempo ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the information described here. For anything about privacy, email info@triggertempo.com.
2. What stays on your device (both apps)
To work, the apps keep these things on your device only. We cannot see them:
- the beats and mixes you make and save, and your settings;
- recordings you save (and, in Trigger Tempo Pro, MIDI files you export), in the Documents › Trigger Tempo folder;
- in Trigger Tempo Pro, audio files you choose to import, and packs you download.
You can delete them at any time in the app, by clearing the app's storage in your device's settings, or by uninstalling the app.
The apps do not use your microphone, camera, contacts or location. Recording records the sound the app itself plays, not the room around you.
3. Trigger Tempo Kids
Trigger Tempo Kids is made for children. It collects no personal information from anyone. It has no adverts, no in-app purchases, no accounts, no chat or messaging, no sharing and no links out of the app, and it never connects to the internet. All its sounds are in the app and have been checked as suitable for children.
We follow the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children's Code), the UK GDPR, the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy. Parents and guardians can contact us at info@triggertempo.com.
4. Trigger Tempo Pro
Trigger Tempo Pro is for teenagers and adults and is not made for children; children should use Trigger Tempo Kids. It has no accounts, and you can use its free packs without anything leaving your device. Information is only used when you choose one of the things below.
4.1 Your install number
When you first use the pack store, the app makes a random number for this copy of the app (an "install number"). It is not your name, phone number or advertising ID, and it isn't linked to them. It is used only to unlock packs you watch an advert for (4.2) and to check downloads (4.4). Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes it.
4.2 Watching an advert to unlock a pack
If you choose Watch an advert, the advert is shown by Google AdMob. To show it, measure it and prevent fraud, Google may collect information about your device, such as its advertising ID, IP address, approximate location (worked out from the IP address), device type and how you interacted with the advert. Google uses this as described in its privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and its page on how Google uses information from apps (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
- In the UK, the EU and some other places, the app first asks whether you agree to personalised adverts. You can say no and still watch adverts to unlock packs; you will see adverts that are not personalised. You can change your choice at any time in the app's Settings › Advert privacy choices.
- When you finish an advert, Google tells our download server your install number and which pack you chose, so the pack can be unlocked. We keep that for 3 days (the length of the unlock) and then it is deleted automatically.
- Adverts only appear when you choose to watch one. There are no adverts at all with the All packs subscription.
4.3 Buying a pack or subscribing
Payments are handled entirely by Google Play. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. Google Play gives the app a "purchase token", a code that proves the purchase. Google's privacy policy covers the payment itself.
4.4 Downloading packs
Packs that don't come with the app download from our download server, which runs on Cloudflare. To check you may have a pack, the app sends the server:
- the pack's name;
- for a pack you bought, or with the subscription: the purchase token, which our server checks with Google Play. A scrambled (one-way) record that it was checked is kept for 1 hour, so that several downloads don't each need asking Google again;
- for a pack unlocked by an advert: your install number.
Like any internet service, Cloudflare processes your device's IP address to deliver the download and protect the service from abuse, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). We do not keep IP addresses, and we do not use any of this information to identify you, track you or build a profile.
4.5 Sharing
In Trigger Tempo Pro you can share a recording through your device's own share menu. The app only hands the file to the app you choose; it does not send it to us.
5. Summary of information used
| Information | When | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Install number and chosen pack | Pro: you watch an advert | Unlock the pack | 3 days |
| Purchase token (scrambled record) | Pro: you download a bought pack or use the subscription | Check the purchase with Google Play | 1 hour |

6. Our legal reasons (UK GDPR)
- To provide what you ask for (contract): checking purchases and unlocking and downloading packs.
- Your consent: personalised adverts, where the law requires consent. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings › Advert privacy choices.
- Our legitimate interests: keeping the download service secure and preventing fraud.
7. Who else is involved
- Google (Google Play, Google Play Billing and Google AdMob), for app delivery, payments and adverts.
- Cloudflare, which runs our download server and this website.
These companies may process information outside the UK. They use legal safeguards for this, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell or rent information to anyone.
8. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising, and has no sign-up forms. Cloudflare, which hosts it, processes IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect the site.
9. If you email us
We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them once the conversation is over, unless the law requires us to keep them.
10. Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. Because we hold almost nothing (an install number for 3 days at most, which isn't linked to you), there is usually nothing for us to find; you can delete everything the apps keep by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. For information Google holds, see your Google account settings. If you have a concern, contact us first; you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above, publish the new version here and include it in the apps. If a change ever meant the Kids app collecting any information, we would not make it without first asking a parent or guardian.
